Described as “a real power house” by young horse selector Teus Van Den Brink (NED), Crispo, the son of Contendro I, displays strength, style, and technique. Under Germany’s David Will, Crispo successfully campaigned up to the five-star level, going on to represent Brazil with João Victor Castro Aguiar Gomes de Lima before being sold to Great Britain’s Team Harmony in 2019.
His sire Contendro I is a half-brother to the grand prix show jumping stallion, Caretano, and one of the best-breeding sons of Contender. Contendro I’s eldest offspring—which includes Christian Ahlmann’s (GER) Codex One, Constantin B, and Callahan—all excelled at the top levels of the sport.
Crispo is also a half-brother to the 1.45m-level show jumping horse Acorada K (by Acorado I). Both of these horses are out of I-Cleopatra F, a descendent of Corofino, who produced such class horses as Chatman, Capriola van de Helle, and Russel.
In addition, Crispo’s granddam, B-Ramiro Girl (by Ramiro) jumped at the 1.30m level, and is a half-sister to the international show jumping stallions Ramiro’s Son I and Ramiro’s Son II (Ramiro), ZfdP stallion Delta’s Bubka (Pik Bube), and two State Premium Mares. The same family also produced the mare Ramila (Ramiro’s Son II), who competed up to the 1.60m-level with Emily George (CAN).
