Speed, bravery, and an honest mentality are just some of the characteristics possessed by the Belgian mare, Ghana. Though small in stature, she competed in high-stakes classes with Peter Moloney (IRL). Among these were the YAGEO-Prize CSIO5* at CHIO Aachen, where she finished 5th in 2019 and the Bunn Leisure Derby at Hickstead, U.K., where she finished ninth. Ghana’s offspring, Nebraska Van 't Vianahof, proves the quality of her breeding. The 2013 mare campaigned as a young horse under Italy’s Alberto Zorzi, going on to jump in 1.50m-level classes with Nisse Lüneburg (GER).
Ghana's sire, Vigo D Arsouilles, is an impressive stallion uniting the genes of Nabab de Reve and Fleuri de Manoir. In 2010, he won an Individual Gold Medal at the World Equestrian Games with Philippe Le Jeune (BEL). He also represented Belgium in numerous championships and Nations Cups, competing successfully over some of the world's most challenging tracks.
Vigo D Arsouilles passes on his unique qualities to his offspring, many of which have had exceptional careers in the sport. Some of these include Irenice Horta (Cian O'Connor, IRL), Golden Hawk (Shane Breen, IRL), Ego van Orti (Edwina Tops-Alexander, AUS), Vagabond de la Pomme (Pénélope Leprévost, FRA), Go Easy de Muze (Darragh Kenny, IRL), Sterrehof's Ushi (Julia Houtzage-Kayser, AUT), and Fair Light Can't Heike (Alberto Zorzi, ITA).
Fakir de Kreisker and Galoubet also contribute prized Selle Français blood to Ghana’s pedigree. Galoubet was a notable sire and competition horse that never failed to perform. He won a Gold Medal at the 1982 World Equestrian Games in Dublin, and also topped the podium at numerous Nations Cups and World Cup qualifiers. A few of his most famous offspring—Baloubet du Rouet (Rodrigo Pessoa, BRA), Taloubet Z (Christian Ahlmann, GER), and Quick Star (Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum, GER)—are legends in their own right.
Ghana’s dam, Viana van de Kornelishhoeve, by Cash, produced multiple 1.60m-level horses, including Tops-Alexander’s Inca Boy Van T Vianahof and Paige Johnson’s (USA) Dakota.
